I've been a computer enthusiast since tinkering with an Apple II E as a kid. Computing life in the home I grew up in continued with a 2nd hand Apple II GS, and a couple of Macintosh Performas. When I went away to college, I bought myself a PowerBook G4 (and continued to use it regularly for at least a decade; eventually trying Debian on it, but being disappointed to lose the two-finger scrolling function that a 3rd party driver had enabled under OS X). Over time secondhand desktops running GNU/Linux became my primary computing devices at home and a low end Chromebook was added around 2017 (which may soon be replaced with something as the power connection is failing). In 2023, my desktop is a Core2 Duo with running Debian.
